Hello holiday lights and parade enthusiasts!

The DSC will be decorating cruisers this year for the lighted boat parade!

Please join us for the annual lighted boat parade through Baltimore's inner harbor this year on December 6th! We'll meet at DSC at noon (approx) to rig decorations. The parade starts at 5pm, so we anticipate leaving the dock around 4pm.

We will need lots of borrowed lights and potentially an auxiliary power source. Last year we used a big power bank to get us through the night. The parade runs from 5-9pm, and we will probably want to de-rig the next day rather than after docking late on Saturday.

Please note: the DSC does not run or organize the Lighted Boat Parade.  This event registration is just for DSC members to sign up for DSC boats participating in the event.

    Thursday Night Racing (TNR)

    Competitive Racing for DSC Members

**Note that these dates are ESTIMATED and will be updated in the TNR Sailing Instructions, to be published for 2026 on April 1, 2026**

Thursday Night Racing (TNR) is the Downtown Sailing Center's signature competitive racing series, open to DSC members with a Racing Upgrade. Teams consist of 2 skippers and 5–6 crew and are formed for the season, with rosters due to the office by March 31st.

All of the details for Thursday Night Racing, including the Notice of Race (NOR) for the upcoming season, the prior year's Sailing Instructions (SIs) - which will be updated on April 1st, and much more, are posted on the TNR page.

The best way to find a team is by joining as a member and attending a variety of DSC events to make connections. Alternatively, we suggest creating a post about your experience and interest in TNR in the "Racing" space on Circle.

Please note: this calendar listing is for informational purposes only. Registration is not available through this event post. To participate, sailors must join a team and purchase a membership with the Racing Upgrade (we do not recommend purchasing the upgrade until you find a team).

TNR is a competitive racing program, and while new racers are welcome, all participants should have prior knowledge of the racing rules and be competent skippers or crew

    Women on the Water (WOW)

An all-volunteer effort to increase access to sailing for all women and non-binary people.

We welcome beginners at WOW events! If you are interested in learning more about sailing or getting introduced to sailing, please join as a beginner on WOW Mondays.

WOW events are educational, and boat groups will be formed so that each boat has a skilled skipper aboard. Skippers, we'll make sure you have an experienced crew aboard with you if desired!

If you are already checked out as a DSC skipper, please sign up to volunteer skipper. This will allow you to develop your skills while boosting other women. We cannot run this program without your support!

WOW will take place on the first and third Mondays during the season.

The Downtown Sailing Center welcomes women and non-binary people of all skills and experience levels to participate with us, including non-DSC-members.

A small fee for nonmembers of $35/session helps us maintain our boats. If you think you will be attending multiple events, please consider joining as a member of the DSC! (If you join after attending a WOW event, we'll return your $35 in the form of a membership discount!)

    Friday Night Fun Race

Sail Into the Weekend — No Registration Needed!

Kick off your weekend with the Friday Night Fun Race, a relaxed, social sail open to all DSC members! This pickup-style distance race starts at 6:00 PM off the DSC docks (dock call 5:30 PM) and heads toward the first red buoy in the Middle Branch.

Post on Circle in advance or come early to meet other members and find a spot. "Regulars" often save crew space for new sailors. Volunteers help organize teams and assign boats at the dock.

No racing experience? No problem! It’s a fun, low-pressure intro to racing.  Some sailing knowledge helps, but enthusiasm is all you need.

    Important Notes

Join us for friendly competition, good vibes, and a great way to start the weekend!
